Omaha Camera Club Meeting Minutes April 2, 2019 Omaha Camera Club Meeting Minutes Substitute chairman, Don Cross, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. with13 members in attendance. Old Business: Treasurer’s report: Don Cross (treasurer) reports that the treasury total is $4208.95. One renewing membership was paid and a bill turned in for funeral flowers. Calendar Reminders: Remember to check out the club’s display at La Casa Restaurant located at 41st and Leavenworth on the North side of the street. Lauritzen Gardens will be sponsoring a Rose photo contest in June. So start taking your rose pictures or find some you have taken to find a good entry. New Business: April’s Homework assignment is “Birds.” Next meeting will be on April 16th Discussion of club policy upon passing of a member deferred to next board meeting. Linda led discussion for ideas ;and emails from Chris, Larry H, and Paul E (not present) were received with ideas. Discussion of Gallery usage and navigation on website. N4C Digital Competition - March 2019 Fifty-four images, eight in each of four categories (DB, DN, DP, DT), seven in Journalism (DJ), and 15 in Altered Reality (DA - we judged in February so had double our quota this month) by twelve OCC members were eventually submitted to N4C for judging. Initially, these members sent in 57; the “extra” images were in Nature (10) and Travel (9), so we had run-offs for those eight slots/category. Besides 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, N4C awards Honorable Mentions to the top 10% of the category entrants and Merit Awards to those in the top 25%. Nine Omaha Camera Club members received a total of 15 awards: Altered Reality: Mike Barker (1st); Dorothy Sansom, Trish Place, Nikki McDonald(HM); Dorothy Sansom and Allen Kurth (M) Black and White: Larry Headley (HM) Journalism: Allen Kurth (2nd); Larry Headley (3rd); Donna Turner (Merit) Nature: Terry Turner, Allen Kurth, Marty Barker (Merit) Pictorial: Allen Kurth (Merit)Travel: Donna Turner (Merit) Thank you Helen Shiley for the cookies. In Memoriam Message from Chris Amberg, (President) “It brings me great sadness to report that we have learned of the death of Gary Prill.
